Your post definately opens the door for a few points that need to be made.
First, If my friend Dr. Ellis struck you as being a pompous jackass, so what. He knows his material, inside and out, and has years of practical experience to back up his scientific grounding. He directed you to the answer to your question, although it didn't seem to be where you wanted to be directed. Dr. Ellis has 3 major research articles in the Journal of Applied Physiology and 10 other abstracts that are in print, which can be accessed through the research tab of his website.
Second. He makes his living doing this. He gets hundreds of requests a day via email and phone. He took the time to personally respond to you. Try e-mailing your doctor and see what kind of response you'll get. These guys are swamped and simply can't give you the attention that you are seeking.
Third. I have spent decades of sifting through mountains of crap to assemble sources of information that I trust. These people are important to me because they indirectly help me to make a living and have also made huge contributions to my knowledge base, which I have had the pleasure to share with everyone on this forum. Some of them are also my friends. I need to be able to trust the members of this forum to treat every one of them with respect, whether or not they like their personalities.
Respectfully
Steve Maxwell
